A cameleer leads a camel train along a dirt road in the outback

Cameleer Kurt Posel leads a camel train along a dirt road in the outback. The group is in profile heading towards and just to the side of the camera. In the background is a sparsely shrubbed rocky outcrop and a big, blue sky with clouds in the distance.
This colour image was shot in open country near Simpsons Gap (Rungutjirpa) in the West MacDonnell Ranges, Northern Territory, while filming 'Australian Wildlife Series: Camel' 1975: Although not a biological study of this notable contributor to Australia's history, this film corrects some of the popular misconceptions about the camel and its habitat. In addition to showing camels in their rough and risky Australian environment, the film includes the people who work with camels in the Australian outback.

A dark haired man lies asleep on a floral patterned deck chair

A dark haired man dressed in jeans and a short sleeved shirt, lies asleep on a sunflower patterned deckchair. Behind him is a rough stucco wall and some red flowering plants. This image was shot while filming 'And Their Ghosts May Be Heard' 1975: In 1893, leaving workers' strikes, a bitter depression and unemployment behind, a group of more than 200 Australian workers set sail for Paraguay, South America under the charismatic leadership of trade unionist William Lane. Their dream was to set up a utopian society, to be run along true communist lines and Australian principles of mateship and equality. Through interviews with the descendants of those first settlers And Their Ghosts May Be Heard tells the story of how that dream floundered and ultimately failed. It also explores the strong Australian identity that has been passed down through the generations and follows the journey of the youngest grandson Peter Wood, who has returned to live in the land of his forefathers.

A group of freshwater crocodiles crowd together on a riverbank

An aerial colour image of a group (bask) of seven Australian freshwater crocodiles crowd together on a stony riverbank or lake shore. One crocodile can be fully seen in the water. This image was shot while filming 'Australian Wildlife Series: Crocodile' 1974: A comprehensive treatment of saltwater and freshwater crocodiles. A “non specialist” film, it is nevertheless scientifically accurate, and takes a balanced view of this little understood and seldom loved reptile. In 2016 the freshwater crocodile's conservation status is 'Least Concern'.
