A woman in a bikini embraces a man dressed in a captains hat Featured 2 Aug 2016 Print

A woman in a bikini embraces a man dressed in a captains hat

A woman with short, red hair and dressed in a white, lacy bikini gazes adoringly up at a man wearing a captain's peaked cap and a red, shiny wet weather jacket, which is open to expose his chest and torso. In the background is white sailcloth. This image was shot while filming Will the Great Barrier Reef cure Claude Clough? 1967: This bizarre little film takes the form of a psychiatric session, using the metaphor as a way to explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. When people on the street seem to be walking backwards or upside down, Claude Clough (Charles Little) seeks therapy. His psychoanalyst (June Thody) advises him to take a holiday and get back to basics. From the psychoanalyst's couch, Claude's journey begins, with the psychoanalyst playing the roles of flight attendant, beautiful local girl and mermaid. The result is a tourist film with a difference - including stunning footage of the Great Barrier Reef. A lighthearted parody of psychoanalysis with a decidedly 60s feel

A large black and white sow lies in a stall with her 10 piglets

A colour image of a large white sow with black markings on her face and body, lying in the corner of a brick walled pigsty, next to her 10 small piglets. Most of the piglets are lying near her back legs, but one piglet is standing near the door looking out. Two piglets are black in colouring, and eight are black and white. The stall floor is made of large square flagstones and the door is made of roughly joined thick, vertical slats of wood. This image was shot while filming Human Face of China, The 1979

Sand dunes. The Australia Game, 1978 Featured 2 Aug 2016 Print

Sand dunes. The Australia Game, 1978

A colour image of the view over the sand dunes to the coastline. The image is taken from the program the Australia Game, about three finalists of a national quiz show that are pitting their wits against one another to win a unique prize. All the questions the contestants have to answer are concerned with Australian people and Australian history. This is a lively film, full of wit and fantasy. It tells the world about Australia today
