Three young people stand talking outside a shops display window

A black and white image of three young people - two women and a man - standing outside a shop's display window. The two women are talking to each other. Both have long straight hair and are dressed in the miniskirts of the 1960s era. The man has long sideburns and is dressed in a dark coloured suit and tie. He is looking away from the women. One woman carries a houndstooth patterned bag and a bunch of white flowers. This image was shot while filming 'Three to Go: Michael' 1969: Until now, Michael's life has followed a relatively straight and narrow path. A chance encounter with an actor involved in a film about guerrilla warfare leads him to question his safe job and conservative lifestyle. In this experimental drama, Michael is taken on an excursion into the world of the young radical, but is it where he belongs? Acclaimed director Peter Weir interweaves Michael's story with footage showing dramatised armed resistance in a Sydney under siege and segments from ‘Youth Quake', a panel discussion about the youth revolution.

A man in a wetsuit is 'hooked' by a woman carrying a fishing rod

A colour image of a man in a wetsuit facing a woman wearing a red sun hat, who is carrying a fishing rod. The man is dressed in a full wetsuit with a scuba diving hood. A large oval divers mask covers most of his face. He appears to have been 'hooked' by the woman, because her fishing line is attached to his head by a giant hook. In the background is a tropical beach setting - a hill-topped sandy beach lies at the edge of a calm blue water bay. This image was shot while filming 'Will the Great Barrier Reef cure Claude Clough?' 1967: This bizarre little film takes the form of a psychiatric session, using the metaphor as a way to explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. When people on the street seem to be walking backwards or upside down, Claude Clough (Charles Little) seeks therapy. His psychoanalyst (June Thody) advises him to take a holiday and get back to basics. From the psychoanalyst's couch, Claude's journey begins, with the psychoanalyst playing the roles of flight attendant, beautiful local girl and mermaid. The result is a tourist film with a difference - including stunning footage of the Great Barrier Reef. A lighthearted parody of psychoanalysis with a decidedly 60s feel.

A young woman harvests a rice crop. Our Asian Neighbours - India Featured Print

A young woman harvests a rice crop. Our Asian Neighbours - India

A young Indian woman looks up from her job of harvesting a rice crop with a small scythe. The crop is in a large field, bordered by a thick treeline.
This image is taken from 'The Village Economy - A Village in Tanjore': Mr Raghavachari own 20 acres of very productive paddy fields in the village of Thillaisthanam, Southern India. He employs many labourers who are not lucky enough to own their own land. He discusses the developments in the village rice industry, and the effects these have on the lives of the people. 'The Village Economy' is part of the series 'Our Asian Neighbours - India' 1977, that takes a personal look at the lives of a variety of individuals in India.
