A colour image of Pitt Street, Sydney. The layout of the street has changed over the decades, as has the direction of the traffic. The image shows the now demolished Ascot Theatre and the old entrance to the Hilton hotel. Waltons department store and Lowe's have been replaced by the Citibank building. The building that is now the Arthouse Hotel on Pitt street can be seen in the image. There are now only two lanes on the street and travel in the opposite direction towards Pitt Street Mall
